Thank you for your patience as we work on new routines for drop off and pick up. Here's how everyone can help:
* If you know that drop off occurs along the driver's side, have your child sit on that side so that they can open the door and pop out.
* Have your child put on their mask and grab their backpack prior to getting to the front of the line.
* Have tickets ready... photocopy extra tickets for the glove compartment
* Shower your child with kisses BEFORE getting to the front of the line!
* If your child has a spot on the bus, let them take the bus. If you have a spot but don't plan to use it, give it up so that we can put other children on that bus. The first bus at OCRS today had only one child on it!
We are looking for a couple of parents and staff members to join Smithfield's District Improvement Team. The first meeting of the team will take place on September 28, 2020 at 4:30pm in the PD Room at 49 Farnum Pike (administration building). The team's mission is to monitor the progress of the district toward the goals in our strategic plan. We meet 3 times per year - September, January, and May. Please contact the superintendent if interested.

The access road to the high school may be closed for some of the day tomorrow, Saturday, September 5th, to accommodate construction crews.
Ironworkers began setting steel in place on Monday and will be working their way from Area A to Area D over the next several weeks. Over the next few days the public will be able to have a better picture of the real height and overall size of the building addition at McCabe!
Grab and Go Meals have been extended to September 11th! Meals will be available for pick-up on TUESDAYS and FRIDAYS from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Smithfield High School, 90 Pleasant View Ave. EVERYONE age 18 and younger is eligible to receive a free lunch and breakfast.
Congratulations to our staff members celebrating 5-year anniversaries in Smithfield who were recognized on Wednesday! A special shout out to Kevin Cullen, Diane Damle, Lora DiMuccio, Lynn Farren, Maureen Nangle, and Barbara Smith-White who have completed 30 years in Smithfield!

Smithfield's summer GRAB AND GO MEALS have been extended until August 31st! Meals can be picked up at the Smithfield Sr. High School (door #2) between 11:00-noon Monday through Friday.
Come one, come all! The Smithfield School Committee will be touring Winsor Elementary School and Gallagher Middle School and will be discussing COVID-related protocols at their School Committee workshop on THURSDAY, AUGUST 20, 2020 at 7:30 AM

This fall, it will be important for parents to have a variety of options for daycare. We are working with all daycare facilities to make things as easy as possible for our families. Cadence Academy has put together an interesting option and has opened communication channels with our district. See attached flyer for more information.
