In honor of Juneteenth which was first recognized as a federal holiday in 2021. Governor McKee will sign legislation making Juneteenth a state holiday in Rhode Island.

A group of Ms. Brophy's 6th-grade students participated in an enrichment program this year called Music Art Poetry Synchronized (MAPS). GMS students wrote original poems that students in Hartford, CT transformed into music. The project culminated with a trip to Hartford to recite their poems to music.
