Dear Smithfield Staff and Families,

This 39th edition of the Back to School report includes our weekly report on COVID cases, available COVID vaccination information,  and an update on town data.

A Weekly Report on COVID Cases

Since last week’s report, there are an additional 2 confirmed COVID cases. This brings our total since our school year began to 1,148 cases. There were 0 cases identified at SHS, 0 cases identified at Gallagher, 0 cases at Pleasant View Elementary, 1 case at LaPerche Elementary,  0 cases at Old County Road Elementary and 1 case at our School Administration Building.

Town Data

The number of new weekly COVID cases in Smithfield has dropped from 35 cases to 19 last week.  The number of cases in the state dropped to 2003 from 2806 the week prior. The town rate corresponds to a weekly rate of 86 new cases per 100,000 residents. Our community’s risk level for COVID-19 transmission remains at medium.
