Dear Smithfield Staff and Families,

This 31st edition of the Back to School report includes our weekly report on COVID cases and an update on town data. We are shortening the reports to continue to offer up-to-date figures concerning virus transmission while limiting other information to only the most pertinent information.

The number of cases in the state rose more significantly from 1353 last week to 1877 this week. The town rate corresponds to a weekly rate of 159 new cases per 100,000 residents.
