All of the Smithfield Public Schools are closed on Nov. 7 for voting to occur in the schools.

Monday, Oct. 9 is Columbus Day and Indigenous Peoples' Day. All Smithfield Schools are closed.

Due to expected heavy rains and flooding conditions, the SHS Open House scheduled for Wed. , Sept. 13 has been rescheduled for Thursday, Sept. 28.

Due to the high heat index, athletic practices and tryouts for both GMS & SHS have been cancelled on Sept. 6 and Sept. 7.

The Gallagher Middle School Open House date has been changed to Sept. 12.

The Smithfield Public Schools and District Office are closed for Labor Day on Sept. 4 and for the Special Primary Election on Sept. 5. Schools are open on Sept. 6.

Welcome back! Students in grades 1-12 begin school on Tuesday, August 29.

September 5, November 7 and April 2 are Non-School Days for all students and staff due to the schools being used as polling places.

There is no school on Memorial Day.
