Dear Families,
This is a reminder regarding the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP). NAEP is an educational assessment, often called The Nation’s Report Card, that provides national, state, and district-level information about student achievement.
NAEP has selected 50 fourth-grade students from our school to participate. If your child was selected, you received a notification letter last week. Students will take the assessment in either math or reading on January 28.
If you choose to opt your child out of the NAEP assessment, please email me directly at tviera@smithfield-ps.org no later than January 20, 2026.
