#Engage, Energize,& Educate
January 9th, 2026
Dear Families,
In honor of National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, we are grateful for the dedication and service of our local police officers who work every day to keep our community safe. As a small token of our appreciation, we are pleased to welcome our officers to campus today to enjoy a complimentary pizza lunch and student made cards that were handed out during all three lunch periods. We thank our local police department for their commitment, partnership, and the positive presence they bring to our school and community.
As we begin the new year at Pleasant View Elementary, we want to take a moment to thank you for your continued partnership and support. The start of a new year is a wonderful opportunity to reset routines, refocus on learning, and remind our students of the values to help them succeed both in and out of school.
New Email Address for the Office
We have a new email address for families to use for attendance, dismissal changes, early dismissal or late arrivals.

SET GOALS:
Talking with your child about what they hope to learn, improve, or challenge themselves with helps build motivation and ownership of their learning. Just as important, setting behavior goals such as being kind to others, believing in themselves, and working hard even when tasks feel difficult helps reinforce the values we strive to teach each day at school. When children see that school and home are working together to support their growth, they feel encouraged, confident, and ready to make this new year a successful one
READ WITH YOUR CHILD:
One of the most impactful things you can do at home is read with and to your child. Whether your child is an emerging reader or reading independently, hearing stories read aloud and sharing time together around books builds vocabulary, comprehension, confidence, and—most importantly—a love of reading. Even just 10–15 minutes a day makes a meaningful difference. Talking about the story, asking questions, and letting your child see you enjoy reading helps reinforce how valuable reading truly is.
Thank you for continuing to partner with us to support your child’s growth. We look forward to a year filled with reading, learning, kindness, and success for all of our students.
Smart Watches & Toys
Smart watches are not allowed at school. Please refrain from having your child wear a smart watch to school.
Many students are bringing toys in their backpacks and lunchboxes. All toys should be kept at home.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Dismissal At Door 1
In order to expedite dismissal and keep the traffic back up to a minimum, here are some reminders:
Please have your sign visible to staff on the passenger side of your vehicle.
Please remain in your vehicle and have your child independently get into your vehicle.
If your child is unable to independently get into your vehicle, you may consider parking in the chevron lot and picking your child up from door 8 (grades 3, 4, & 5) or door 9 (k, 1, & 2).
