Good Morning PVES Families,
We hope you & your child/children have been enjoying the SPRING BREAK week!
During the week before break, we celebrated Reading Week with a number of fun literacy activities, including Drop Everything & Read, a Vocabulary Parade, Guest Readers, and a performance by storyteller Len Cabral. Special thanks to our PTO for making his show possible for our students.
Below are some pictures from our Reading Week story shuffle that took place on Friday, April 11th. Staff members rotated through classrooms and read a portion of a story each time that music was played on the intercom.

In memory of Colleen Halloran-Villandry’s niece, Emily, who passed away in 2014, her family will be holding their annual Book Drive. All books collected will be donated to Books Are Wings.

DARE 5th Grade Ice Skating Event
Important Dates:
Monday, April 21st- Fifth Grade Earth Day clean up in the courtyard-12:05-2:15 pm. Students are welcome to bring in gardening gloves.
Tuesday, April 22nd-Earth Day Activities/Fifth Grade Field Trip to the Mowrey-Students are welcome to bring in gardening gloves.
Wednesday, April 23rd-Administrative Assistant’s Day! Students are encouraged to bring in any homemade cards for Mrs. Pierpaoli and Mrs. Ross.
Thursday, April 24th-Fifth Grade D.A.R.E./ Ice Skating from 5:00pm-7:00pm
Friday, April 25th- DEADLINE TO ORDER YOUR YEARBOOK! No late orders will be accepted.
Saturday, May 3rd- SSELAC Color Run at Deerfield Park 9am-noon & Grade 5 Pool Party 2:00-4:00 pm
Tuesday, May 6th-PTO meeting from 6:30-7:30pm in the cafeteria (door 2). Children are welcome to attend.
Wednesday, May 7th-RICAS Math Testing in grades, 3, 4, and 5. Hearing Screenings take place at PVES.
Thursday, May 8th-RICAS Math Testing in grades 3, 4, and 5. Spring Carnival/Volunteers Needed! 5:00-7:00 pm in the Staff Parking Lot

Monday, May 12th-Wednesday, May 14th- Musical Rehearsals after school/Support our PVES PTO by ordering in or dining at Laura’s from 11:00-10:00 pm
